  1. this recent piece invoked "i bleed the emptiness of tools" quite directly from this piece from the valley below. it's such a splendid line and i think about it often. i feel that our symbols have become somewhat entangled and i tend to assume that, if anyone reads this, they most likely read valley too (why wouldn't you?), and would therefore clock the reference, but i should be more explicit when quoting such a singular utterance directly (sorry)
