it's not a can 
but you bottled it

you walked away
followed the other river

hours later
you had to catch an odd bus home

you did not want to get the bus 
but you were too far from home

now the bus goes back and forth and all around the city hospitals
you did not know the city had so many hospitals

the sun makes the sky a feature, you think,
twice a day

but all day, really,
you

you are picking up blossoms 
one by one
